i find LR3 faster than LR2 in my Dell Studio xps13, that runs with intel 1.6ghs core 2, 4 ddr2 and 256 geforce video card, and 64 bit windows 7 My LR3b2 is currently on a C2D 2.8 3mb cache, raid0 hdd, 3gb ddr2 ram, xp32bit, caches and previews on a separate hdd. but then LR2 was on a p4 2.8ghz 2gb ddr cache, single hdd, 3gb ram, xp32bit

I know my 64 bit gave me troubles so i went to the 32 bit program In fact everything appears to Rock so i'm not sure what the problem is other then i'm using Windows 7-32 bit. Wow! if anything mine is faster, Uploads photos faster. Seems to me you can make scrolling and importing faster, without making other aspects of LR slower (for example, rendering a full screen version of my photo is slower now than it was in LR2) At least, if I was programming it, that's what would happen.Īnd yes, I have optimized the database and rebuilt the previews.

Have you optimised the database? And I assume you've given it time to build all of the previews etc? Mine's a nearly two year old Macbook Pro wtih 4gb ram, 2.53 core duo. I've not found the rest slower, but it certainly ain't noticeably faster. Some things are faster: scrolling in Library for example importing. The irony is that they said they retooled it to make it run faster o_0 No suggestions but I can say that on my macbook pro LR3 also seems much slower than LR2 did.
